Our children are attending public schools. There are up to 200 children in a classroom, few textbooks beyond those of which our sponsored children possess and few school supplies or school furniture. Some schools consist of wooden barracks with dirt floors and holes for doors and windows. Heat during the cold season is as much a dream as electric light. The teachers are overwhelmed with the situation in the slums and trying to learn in such an environment is more than difficult.
Our goal is to construct a school where our program children will have the learning environment and possibilities to lead them into a brighter future and the possibility of a higher education.
The school will consist of 12 large classrooms (3 kindergarten and preschool classrooms and the 8 primary school classrooms and a library), a kitchen and dining hall, latrines and the LLK Int. offices.
If you donate generously towards the school construction your name or the name of your firm will be written on its cornerstone when it is completed if you’d like. When the part of the school that you’ve paid for is finished you can be sent a digital photo of it per e-mail. To construct the entire school, a Kenyan architect has estimated the costs to be approximately $250.000.
